C. K. Naidu- India’s first cricket captain
C.K. Naidu was born on October 31, 1895, into a family living in Nagpur. Naidu started his cricket career in the year 1910, playing for Hindus.
The NCC team toured India in 1926 under Arthur Gilligan’s innings, and in that team, Naidu played a historic innings of 153 runs, in which he hit long sixes. Impressed by that innings, India was given Test status.
In the first international match played in the year 1932, Naidu was made the captain of the Indian team. At the age of 36, Naidu made his debut in international cricket, due to which he could not be established in international matches for a long time, but Naidu played many matches in domestic cricket.
